Word Family Game

Print the first page in LANDSCAPE on card stock. Laminating or covering with mac tac will ensure durability. Print the 2nd page in LANDSCAPE on regular paper and cut in half to create 2 playing sheets. Children will each need a pawn and a die will be required to play the game. Each child will also need a copy of the playing sheet (page 2). Placing their pawns on start, the children take turns rolling the die and moving their man around the game board. When they land on a word, they write it in the correct place on their playing sheet (page 2). They continue around the white squares of the board until someone has written each word on the board onto their playing sheet. Words are written only once so if children land on a square that has already been copied, their turn is over and play resumes with the next player.
