Put Your Circle in the Air

(sung to: If You're Happy and You Know It)

Put your circle in the air, in the air
Put your circle in the air, in the air
Put your circle in the air
Wave it high and leave it there
Put your circle in the air, in the air

Put your square in the air, in the air, etc... continue with different shapes

Shapes, Shapes All Around

Shapes, shapes all around
So many shapes are in our town
Look around and you will find
So many shapes of every kind!

We use this as a game. I hold up a shape and we sing the song then call out the shape. Then the children find one object each that is that shape and bring it back to circle (if you have a large group, you may want to select a few children for each different shape so everyone gets a turn) After we look at the objects and repeat their shape, we sing the song again and choose another shape to go find.
