Macaroons

Ingredients:
¼ cup butter
1 cup sugar
½ tsp. vanilla
¼ cup milk
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 cup rolled oats
½ cup flaked coconut

Heat first 4 ingredients on stove at medium heat. Stir until it boils. Take off stove and add rest of the ingredients. Line cookie sheets with wax paper. Drop onto wax paper by teaspoonfuls, Refrigerate. Will set in about 2 hours. Store in covered container in the fridge.

Sweet Marie Squares

Ingredients:
BRING TO A BOIL

1 Tablespoon butter 
1/2 Cup corn syrup 
1/2 Cup peanut butter 
1/2 Cup brown sugar 

REMOVE FROM HEAT & ADD

1 cup peanuts 
2 cups Rice Krispies

Put into 8" x 8" pan. Cover with chocolate chips and spread as they melt. Let Set and cut into squares.

Carrot Cookies

Ingredients:
¾ cups margarine    
¾ cups brown sugar
1 egg      
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour  
(OR  1 tsp. Baking powder & 2 cups whole wheat flour)      
½ tsp. salt
1 ½ cups grated raw carrot  
½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Cream margarine and sugar; beat in egg and vanilla. Blend in flour combined with baking powder and salt. Stir in carrots and nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto greased baking sheet and bake in 350 degree oven for about 12 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen.

Chocolate Strawberry Pizza

Ingredients:
CRUST

½ cup softened butter
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1 egg
¾ cup cocoa
1 cup flour
½ tsp baking powder

TOPPING

½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
¼ cup butter
2 cups sliced strawberries

DRIZZLE

¼ cup white chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 12" pizza pan with foil making a 1"edge all around. Lightly grease foil. Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add milk, egg, and cocoa. Beat slowly until thoroughly blended. Stir in flour and baking powder. Pour into prepared pan spreading mixture to edges of pan. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes. Cool. Melt chocolate chips and butter blending until completely smooth. Spread evenly over cooled pizza and arrange strawberry slices on top. Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave on low power for 1 minute. Stir until smooth. Drizzle from a teaspoon over strawberries. Refrigerate for 15 minutes to allow glaze and drizzle to set. Cut into pizza wedges.

Cinnamon Buns

Ingredients:
DOUGH

2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2cup shortening
1 cup milk

FILLING

1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins

Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening. Add milk all at once and stir with a fork until soft dough is formed. Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to a 12" square. Gently spread shortening over dough. Combine other filling ingredients. S prinkle evenly on top. Roll dough up lightly like a jellyroll. Seal edge. Cut into 12 1" pieces. Place in greased muffin tins. Bake at 425 degrees for 14 - 18 minutes. Drizzle icing on top if desired.

Bunnies

Ingredients:
lettuce
half pear 
mini marshmallow 
baby carrot 
raisins

Place pear half on a lettuce leaf. Use raisins for eyes and mini marshmallow for the bunnies tail. Add a baby carrot by the bunnies mouth and enjoy your bunny fruit & veggie salad.

Yogurt Pops

Ingredients:
your favourite juice 
plain yogurt 
dixie cups 
popsicle sticks

Mix your favourite juice according to package instructions. Mix in 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt for every cup of juice that you use. Pour mixture into dixie cups about 1/4" from the top. Place in freezer. When partially frozen, add popsicle stick to middle of cup. Return pops to freezer until completely frozen and enjoy!

Clown Cones

Ingredients:
Ice-cream 
cones 
smarties  
thin red licorice 
red jube-jube or similiar candy 
whip cream

Put a scoop of ice-cream on a plate. Add cone on top for clown hat. Decorate clown's face with jube-jube for nose, smarties for eyes, and licorice for the mouth. Pipe whip cream around the ice-cream for ruffle. Eat immediately!

Apple Cake

Ingredients:
1/3 cup margarine
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla 
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup raisins
3 med. Apples (peeled and sliced)
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar

Beat margarine, egg and vanilla until light. Combine flour, sugar baking powder, and salt. Add flour mixture and milk alternately to egg mixture - beating until smooth after each addition. Stir in raisins. Spread evenly into greased loaf pan. Arrange slices of apple on top and sprinkle with topping (cinnamon and sugar mixture). Bake at 375 degrees for 40 - 45 minutes.

Butter Tart Squares

Ingredients:
BASE

1/2 cup butter (at room temperature)
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tbsp. sugar

TOPPING

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup raisins
3 eggs
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat butter with flour and sugar until well blended. Press firmly into a square pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Stir together all filling ingredients. Remove base from oven and gently spread over hot base. Return to oven and continue to bake for 20 - 25 minutes until filling is a deep golden brown. Filling may be slightly jiggly in the centre but will firm upon cooling. Cool completely before cutting into squares or bars.

Date Squares

Ingredients:
BASE

1/2 cup butter (at room temperature)
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tbsp. sugar

TOPPING

1 cup chopped dates
3/4 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs (well beaten)

Beat butter with flour and sugar until well blended. Press firmly into a square pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Cook dates in a small amount of water until soft. Mix all ingredients in a bowl until well combined. Gently spread filling over hot base. Return to oven and continue baking for 25 minutes or until filling is a deep golden brown. Let cool and cut into squares.

Chocolate Chip Banana Cake

Ingredients
BATTER 

1 cup butter (softened)
2 cups sugar
2 eggs (beaten)
1 tsp vanilla
5 mashed bananas
1 cup sour cream
3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda

TOPPING 

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Add vanilla, mashed bananas, sour cream, and mix until smooth. Mix together flour, baking powder and baking soda then add to wet mixture. Mix until smooth. Pour half the batter into greased cake pan. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle half of the topping over batter. Top with half of the chocolate chips. Pour on rest of batter and then repeat topping step. Bake for 45 - 50 minutes.

Chocolate Brownie Cookies

Ingredients:
1 1/3 cup Crisco	
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp. Vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cup flour
2/3 cup cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. Milk
1 1/2 cups walnut/pecan pieces (optional)
1 cup chocolate chips

Cream Crisco, both sugars, and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time - beating between additions. Combine dry ingredients and then add to wet alternately with milk - beat at low speed. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes.

Gingerbread

Ingredients:
DOUGH

5 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs (beaten)
1 1/4 cups blackstrap molasses 
ICING
4 cups icing sugar 
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
8 tsp. water (approximately)

Combine dry ingredients. Cream together shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs and molasses. Stir dry ingredients into wet. Divide the dough into four balls, wrap in plastic and refrigerate at least 2 hours and up to a week. On a floured surface, roll out to 1/4" thickness. Cut into shapes for house or cookies. Freeze the dough for 20 minutes before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 - 15 minutes. Mix on high, all icing ingredients for 7 to 10 minutes or until smooth. Should be thick enough to almost hold its shape.

Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup Crisco
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs 
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups oats
1 cup raisins
3/4 cups nuts (optional)

Combine dry ingredients. Cream sugars, Crisco, eggs and molasses. Add dry to wet. Stir in oats, raisins and nuts. Drop tablespoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes.

Donna's Raspberry Squares

Ingredients:
BASE

1 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
½ cup softened butter
1 egg
1 tbsp. milk

FILLING

raspberry jam
frozen or fresh raspberries 

TOPPING

1 egg
4 tbsp. melted butter
1 cup White sugar
2 cups fine coconut
1 tsp. Vanilla

Base: Beat egg , sift flour and baking powder in a bowl , work in butter until crumbly . Stir in egg and then the milk. Spread in an ungreased 8*8 pan . Cover with raspberry jam and a few fresh or frozen rasperries if you have them. Mix topping ingredients in order and place evenly over the filling. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
