*Paint with various colours.

*Experiment with primary coloured paints to make secondary colours.

*Magic Pictures - colour on paper with wax crayon then paint over with diluted black paint (paint will not adhere to crayon so picture will show through).

*Use a different colour for each day and paint, colour, and paste with objects of that colour.

*Experiment with eye droppers and food colouring.

*Make colour paddles from bristle board and coloured celophane.

Block Area

*Use coloured wooden blocks.

*Add clothes of matching colours ie red hats, red coats, etc.

*Add different coloured mittens to match and wear.

*Musical Bumps - cut coloured circles from construction paper and scatter on the ground. Put on some fun music to dance to and when the music stops, children must sit on the colour called out.

*Add food colouring to water.

*Add coloured sponges to water.

*Add matching pails and shovels to sand.

Outdoor Play

*Play hoop games with coloured hoola hoops.

*Red Light, Green Light

*Bean Bag Toss - using colours

*Ring toss - match ring colour to peg to score points.

Field Trips / Special Days

*Have a colour day - everyone dresses in specified colour and do activities in that colour all day

*Have a "my favourite colour" day where children dress in their favourite colour
